Rocky, my son's Boston terrier mix rescue dog, was recently involved in a heartbreaking accident. He was accidentally backed over by a truck and suffered a clean break in his femur. As soon as it happened, I rushed him to the vet, where they performed an ultrasound and x-ray. Unfortunately, the vet is unable to do the surgery Rocky needs, and my son is absolutely distraught. I am doing everything I can to help Rocky recover.

Rocky needs surgery to fix his broken leg, which will require pins to repair the femur. Right now, he is home being managed with pain medication, antibiotics to prevent infection, and a temporary splint on his leg. The cost of the surgery is more than I can afford right now, and I am reaching out for help so Rocky can get the care he needs and my son can have his best friend back. My son misses being able to run and play with Rocky, and it breaks my heart to see them apart.

Rocky came into our lives last August, just before my son had his own knee surgery. Rocky was by his side while he was unable to move around, offering comfort and companionship.
