We have three cats, but Rocky was the one that chose us. We named him after Rocky Balboa, because it was clear from the beginning that he is a fighter. He’s about 6 1/2 years old.
I tell people he’s my service animal—any time I’m in distress, he comes running and lays by my side until I’ve calmed down. At least, until he started getting sick.
Though the diagnosis isn’t 100% confirmed, last week Rocky started exhibiting signs of FIP. We lost a kitten to the same virus several years ago, but since then, a treatment, though pricey, has become available. It requires 84 consecutive days of injections followed by 84 days of observation. The observation part will be easy, financially, but the vials for treatment are expensive. We’re not people who enjoy asking for help, but we’re afraid this isn’t something we can do alone, so this time—we are asking for your help—and really, anything helps!
Please help us obtain treatment for our fighter. Cats can live up to 20 years—he’s much too young to lose a fight to something that’s treatable.
