Hello my names Rocio , I’m a 27yo mom of 2. A couple months ago I began having my periods after 1 year PP , I began coughing up blood each day of my cycles. I went to the ED for this but All my tests ( Xray, CT scan, blood work ) had been negative.on my second menstrual my doctor mentioned this was heard of but very rare and thought it was a type of Endometriosis. I then had a CT with contrast and met with a pulmonologist however nothing was seen on the CT result. In October I had the worst Lung collapse i was coughing up blood every day of my period for 3 days. I currently had a bronchoscopy which showed dry blood on my left lung. I was diagnosed with a rare disease called Thoracic endometriosis. Unfortunately because this is a very rare endometriosis many specialists don’t have the experience or feel comfortable performing surgery in the lungs. There is only 2 surgeons who specialize in this type of surgery one is not accepting new patients & the other surgeon is an out of network provider, surgery ranges from $7500-$9500 that’s aside from clinic visits & recovery which could take anywhere from 9 months to a year. I won’t be able to work due to having surgery performed on my diaphragm, lungs & possibly pelvic area. My husband would also be taking time off work to help take care of my daughters & I since I am a SAHM during the week to my girls. Any donation/ share/ prayer is greatly appreciated.
