Help Rochelle & Evans Fight to Reunite Family

Hi, my name is Rochelle and I’m raising money to help with medical and legal fees to help get our babies back from Department of Children and Family Services.

On Sunday, June 9th 2024, Evan and I took the boys to Exploration Place to run off some energy. As Rowan was playing in the children’s play area, I decided I was going to feed Carson in another section that had benches. I took Carson out of his car seat to feed him. Rowan wanted to go to another exhibit on the other side of the building so I placed Carson back in his seat and back in the stroller to head that way.

After playing our little hearts out, we decided to leave and go home for lunch per Rowan’s request. Evan put Rowan in his car seat and I put Carson in his base. We head home. We get there and start to get the boys out of the car. Evan gets Rowan out and I get Carson out. I did not realize from the time I put Carson back in the car seat at Exploration Place to follow Rowan to the next exhibit that he was not buckled in. So as I am taking him out of his car seat, which I have to tilt some because of how big it is, he falls out and hits the concrete floor of the garage.

Evan rushed him to the hospital. He has fractures on both sides of his skull and “maybe” a fractured/buckled tibia on his left side but the doctors are not 100% sure about the tibia fracture just yet which is what started this whole situation because we were told it was an “old injury” which is crazy because I’ve taken him to several doctors appointments and his legs were never an issue.

We were told the extent of his injury align with suspected “abuse.” Because of this, we had our babies taken away from us and put into police custody which has now been lifted. Thank God! They wanted to put the boys in the Wichita Children’s Home but God stepped in and with the help of wonderful family, they are able to stay with them as they have temporary guardianship until the investigation is over. We can see the boys now since the hold has been lifted but the visits have to be supervised.

We have been interviewed by detective, police officers, DCF, doctors……the list goes on and on. We are exhausted and feel so guilty as parents that this happened. The hospital is not making it easy on us and making us feel as if we intentionally did it. We would NEVER hurt our babies or abuse them. It took us seven years to have Rowan due to infertility issues and Carson is our second Miracle Baby. We are tired mentally, physically and spiritually but we are not going down without a fight.

We are looking into all avenues including getting a lawyer, to help get our babies back. If you are able to donate to help with medical cost or legal fees, we would greatly appreciate it.
