Rocco has been my loyal companion since I adopted him as a three-month-old rescue from Puerto Rico in 2016. He’s always been a shy, gentle soul who only trusts a few people, and I know his early life must have been difficult. This year has been especially hard for both of us—after losing my other rescue dog in April and my son leaving for college, Rocco and I have leaned on each other more than ever.

On Monday, Rocco wasn’t acting like himself, so I rushed him to the ER at Tufts. The vets discovered a large mass on his liver, which was removed in surgery. Since then, he’s needed several blood and plasma transfusions because his red blood cell count was dangerously low. He’s still in the hospital, and his bill continues to grow each day. Rocco is my family, my baby, and I can’t imagine losing him after everything we’ve been through together.

The funds raised will go directly toward Rocco’s hospital bill, including his ER visit, surgery, transfusions, and ongoing care. If there is anything left over, I will donate it to Tufts Animal Hospital to help other pets and families facing emergencies. Any help you can give means the world to us.
