Meet Rocco – he is my 6 1/2 year-old pitbull and I’ve had him since he was just 4 months old. He’s the most loving, attached, and smart (at times) pup ever. Anyone who knows me knows my dogs are truly just another child to me. Rocco is a huge part of my family, especially to me. The past few days, he has not eaten or gone to the bathroom and has been under my feet, clearly depressed and not himself. After a day of vomiting and a day of slightly spitting up, I took him to the animal hospital to get him meds and treated for an upset GI which was 700$. I t When nothing resolved overnight, I assumed the worst and brought him back for X-rays and further diagnosis which was another 800$. Rocco was diagnosed with a mechanical obstruction in his stomach and needs immediate surgery. He is currently on pain meds, slightly sedated, and they injected fluids into him in the meantime. The cost of the operation is more than I can manage on my own right now. Life just hit me all at once, and of course, during the holidays. I’m faced with an impossible choice now: try and find the funds for his surgery or put him down. I never ever ask for help for anything, as I have too much pride. Creating this doesn’t feel right, but it’s worth a shot. Credit options are not a choice, unfortunately. Any amount of donation helps, and your support would mean the world to both of us. Thank you for reading our story and for considering a gift to help Rocco get the care he needs. I don’t have long, as he is sitting pain. I do not know the exact amount as of right now (1:00am) but an estimate from the animal hospital is around 3,000$. Again anything helps!
