Help Robyn Fund Her Gender Affirming Surgeries

Hello everyone!
I’m Robyn, a trans woman in the UK, and I’m reaching out for help as I work towards living as my true self. I’m fundraising £16,000 for gender-affirming procedures that are absolutely essential to my transition and will allow me to finally feel at home in my own body.
Unfortunately, trans healthcare in this country is woefully inadequate. I would be forced to wait years just to have a first appointment, even longer to eventually have any surgery with the NHS. Trans people are left to languish on waiting lists that often reach a decade and so I have decided to go private for my treatment.
Here’s the breakdown of what your generous support will help me cover:
- At £4,300 I can pay for my orchiectomy: This procedure will take place at a private hospital, reducing dysphoria and dependency on hormone blockers. I have already had the consultation with the surgeon; he comes highly recommended from trans friends who have had the same procedure with him.
- At £5,800 I can afford Voice Training with Seattle Voice Labs: A lot of people don't know that HRT doesn't affect your voice; currently it's one of my main causes of being misgendered. Feminising my voice is a vital step in feeling safe and at ease in my day-to-day life. Seattle Voice Labs are the people who trained Abigail Thorn from Philosphy Tube.
- At £8,300 I can pay for a variety of transition related expenses: Transitioning in the UK is expensive! Before starting hormone therapy, I paid £500 for a gender dysphoria diagnosis, £250 to be seen by a private clinic, and £50 a month thereafter (excluding the medication). Laser hair removal costs £200 a month with a large initial fee. The orchi consultation was £250, plus £200 for a psychiatrist referral. Additional expenses like legal document changes and buying new clothes and makeup make it all add up quickly.
- At £16,000 I can afford breast augmentation: This will help immensely in feeling comfortable and confident in my body; HRT has aided here but can only do so much.
Transitioning has been a long, emotional, and expensive journey, and every bit of support makes a difference. These surgeries and treatments will help me lead a life where I can finally feel comfortable and safe in my own skin.
Before coming out I questioned whether I was trans for many years; it was on my mind as a kid, even before I had the words to describe what I was feeling. For anyone who doesn't know, gender dysphoria is the feeling that my body just doesn’t reflect who I really am. Genital dysphoria in particular is the powerful discomfort with certain parts of my body that do not align with my identity. Imagine wearing clothes that just won't fit properly, or looking in the mirror and seeing someone else staring back at you. These feelings affect my everyday life and it's why procedures like these are so essential to feeling happy in my own body.
I know this is a big ask, but I've seen the power of community help so many people. If you’re able to donate it would mean the world to me - no matter the size of your donation, it will all help so much! And if you can't then please, please, please share this as far as you can.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me get closer to becoming the woman I’ve always been inside.
Lots and lots of love,
Robyn x
