On July 9, 2026, our father, Robinson, was detained by ICE while traveling to work in upstate New York. Robinson has a serious congenital heart condition and underwent open-heart surgery in 2008. During his arrest, he experienced severe chest symptoms and suffered a leg injury. He was taken to UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY, where he remained hospitalized for approximately three days. During that time, our family struggled to obtain information about his condition or see him. His 18-year-old daughter drove four hours to the hospital but was unable to visit or hear anything about him due to ICE's blackout policies. She was even threatened by hospital staff to leave or else the police would be involved. Robinson has since been discharged back into ICE custody and is expected to be held at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia, New York. Our greatest concerns are that he receives his prescribed heart medication, appropriate cardiology care, and a fair opportunity to defend his immigration case. We have retained an immigration attorney, but detained immigration cases are extremely expensive and move quickly. We are raising money for urgent immigration attorney fees, medical-release and bond representation, immigration court and government filing fees, and a possible immigration bond. Robinson is a hardworking father who has lived in the United States for many years and has U.S.-citizen children who love and depend on him. Our family is asking for help so that his health is protected and his case can be fully and fairly presented. Every donation will go toward his legal defense, medical advocacy, and related case expenses. We will provide general updates while protecting confidential medical information and the privacy of his children. Please donate if you are able and share this fundraiser with your family, friends, and community. Even a small donation or a share can help us bring Robinson closer to the legal representation and medical care he urgently needs. Thank you for standing with Robinson and our family during this frightening and uncertain time.
