On 2/22/2026, our mother, Robin, was severely injured due to a cycling accident near Lover's Point.

A truck was driving straight as she was about to take off, and she was clipped into her bike pedals as she waited for the truck to pass. The truck was moving slowly, so she decided to detour and move out of its way. While still clipped in, she tipped over and fell to the ground, striking her left hip on the ground. Her entire bicycle landed on top of her during the incident. She has been unable to stand since the fall. She will be out of work for the next couple of months and needs financial help while recovering as she is the breadwinner of her household.

If you know Robin, you know she is a tough athlete who has participated in countless triathlons and marathons, and has suffered many falls before, but this one will change her athletic ability for good. She has three different fractures on the left side of her hip. Her mobility, functional status, and ability to perform activities of daily living have been seriously impaired by this injury.

Robin has been a hardworking caregiver for her entire life both at home and as her career, devoting her heart and skills to caring for the needs of everyone, from children as young as infants, elders as old as 80 with varying disability statuses. Now she needs financial assistance as someone who has no savings and access to generational wealth. Robin is incredibly resilient:she is a mom first and foremost, who has spent her life raising her three kids alone, working over 40 hours a week and surviving each month paycheck to paycheck. Current circumstances are preventing her from accessing financial paths such as a credit card or loan to pay off her imminent living expenses and hospital bills. The financial assistance will go towards her hospitalization, rehabilitation, rent, food, bills, medical supplies, medications, and transportation.
