I'm Robin and I am the founder/owner of Robin's Nest Nature Playschool, an experiential, nature-based preschool seeking a permanent location in Albemarle County. After a successful pilot year in a temporary location, it's time to secure a longterm home base and expand to serve more local families! The decision to purchase property is driven by the commitment to create a stable home base to grow Robin's Nest, bring the benefits of nature-based early childhood education to more local families, and strengthen the nature-based early learning community here in Central Virginia. Your donations will be directly supporting that commitment.

Our Mission:

At Robin's Nest, we envision a world where young children are given the opportunity to explore and learn through play in a natural, nurturing environment. We believe that connecting children with nature from an early age fosters creativity, resilience, and a lifelong love for learning.

To turn this dream into reality, we need your help! We have identified the perfect property to serve as the long-term home for Robin's Nest Nature Playschool. This beautiful piece of land, with nearly an acre of forest and generous indoor and outdoor classroom space, is the ideal environment for fostering a love of nature in our youngest learners.

About

Robin's Nest is founded, owned and taught by me, Robin.

With over ten years of experience, including international teaching, and extensive professional training, I create a secure home-away-from-home where young children thrive, nurtured in the nest, as they begin to explore and spread their wings.

Through daily outdoor immersion, I provide young children with the essentials of unstructured play, sensory experience, social engagement and creative expression, all of which promote healthy development, social connectivity, ecological identity and a sense of place and community.

Robin’s Nest supports families through strengthening community, reducing isolation and providing consistent, high-quality childcare and community resources.

Looking ahead, I plan to expand offerings to include a professional learning community for nature-based teachers, parent education, and advocacy for policy change to support access to nature-based programs for all families.

At Robin’s Nest, we connect with nature, learn through play and feel fully alive every day!
