Help with #RobinsDoOver after Lung Transplant

The picture you see is of me a little over a year ago. I have since improved tremendously, on the outside. In fact, I look really good. You wouldn’t know there was much wrong with me at first glance. Only after watching me wheeze like an asthmatic from climbing a flight of stairs or experiencing the occasional tremor from medication, would you know that I’m disabled

This is just a snippet of what my life and death experience has been since 2019. #robinsdoover

Fifteen months ago, I had a double lung transplant. At 40, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Polymyositis that attacks a person’s muscles. In my case, it destroyed my lungs.  I was in a coma May, June and part of July.  At one point, my heart stopped.

I received my lungs from a 24-year-old former drug addict. Her life had to end for mine to begin again. After spending 10 months in the hospital, I’m back home with my family.  I have five children, one moved out while I was in the hospital.

Now, I suffer from a long list of ailments. Most of them due to side effects from prescription medications. At 42 years young, I have interstitial lung disease, kidney disease, atrial fibrillation, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, acid reflux, osteoporosis, anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, sleep apnea, osteoporosis, and a compression fracture of my thoracic vertebrae T7, T8. But I’m still alive!

I began writing a lengthy series on VocalMedia about my medical trauma. My goal is to share my testimony while attempting to create an earned income stream. I am capable of writing compelling content about various topics. It’s a passion of mine and I’ve made money doing it in the past.  However, it has never been enough to pay more than a few bills. Currently, things remain unchanged. I’m still writing though .

Prior to getting sick, my credit scores were in the mid 700s. Since someone else was managing my affairs and I had no income from working while hospitalized, my credit scores took a tumble.  I used to be a self-employed Medical Courier. I enjoyed being an Independent Contractor and made a decent living driving and walking around all day. All of my bills were paid and I could provide most of what my family wanted and all of what they needed.

Now that I’m home, I have been relying heavily on my credit cards to get by until my next monthly disability payment. Unfortunately, my ex-husband stopped paying child support at my lowest financial point. I’ve contacted the child support enforcement unit and am impatiently awaiting payments from his thousands in arrears.

So, what am I asking for? HELP! I need some assistance with getting ahead of things so once I make payments on my credit cards I won’t have to turn around and charge up the balances again to make ends meet. My credit cards remain maxed out and have been essential to my family's survival to pay bills and buy food.  Your aid would benefit my entire household.  Asking for help is hard, but knowing there are people out in the world willing to lend a hand makes it worth swallowing my pride. #robinsdoover
