On December 17th, I experienced something I never imagined would happen. While driving my truck, it suddenly started acting up, so I pulled over to the side of the freeway and called for a tow. As I waited, my truck burst into flames. By the time the fire department arrived, it was completely engulfed and declared a total loss. I only carried PL/PD insurance, which unfortunately doesn’t cover this kind of incident, so there’s no payout to help me recover.

To make matters worse, the police called the tow company since I had to leave by EMS to get checked out at the hospital. Because the tow was labeled as an impound, the charge was much higher than normal. Now, I can’t even get my truck back to try and scrap it or part it out to recoup some money. As a single mom of a 16-year-old and two furbabies, working full time just barely covers our living expenses. Facing the loss of my vehicle, the high impound fees, and the challenges of the holiday season all at once has become more than I can handle.

I’m asking for help to get a new vehicle so I can continue supporting my family and get to work. I understand that everyone is trying to make ends meet, and we’re all in the same boat of life. I greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time out of their day to read my story and help me in this time of need. I rarely ask for help, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
