Hi, my name is Patrick Souliere, and I’m fundraising for my incredible wife, Robin Sutherland, who was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive Stage 2 lymphoma cancer.
Robin is only 30 years old and one of the strongest people I’ve ever known—physically, mentally, and emotionally. We live in Lindsay, Ontario, where she’s spent most of her life. What began as a small concern has now turned into the fight of her life.
About one to two months ago, Robin started experiencing unusual shortness of breath, which immediately raised red flags because of how active and healthy she’s always been. That led to two very invasive biopsies as doctors worked to identify the cause. The results were still unclear at that point—until everything changed.
Just a few weeks later, Robin woke up with sudden, intense pain and heat in her chest—where we now know the mass is located. She was rushed to the ER and ended up in the hospital for a sudden 7-day stay. After more testing, we received the diagnosis we never saw coming: a rare Stage 2 lymphoma. We were told that without treatment, this type of cancer could become life-threatening in just 8 to 12 months.
Thankfully, with chemotherapy, Robin has an 80–90% chance of survival. But the journey is going to be incredibly hard. Today is Day 1 of 18 weeks of chemo, and we know the road ahead will be physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting.
The hair loss, in particular, will be tough—especially for someone like Robin, who has worked so hard to build her strength and confidence. In her early 20s, she overcame both anorexia and borderline personality disorder, turning her life around with determination, discipline, and heart. She went to college for social work, and she’s spent years dedicated to both her own healing and helping others do the same. She is beautiful, selfless, and incredibly driven—and this cancer has no idea who it’s up against.
Right now, Robin is out of work while going through treatment, and I’m working two jobs to keep us going. But I can’t take on any more without sacrificing time with her—and right now, she needs me more than ever.
We’re not asking for handouts. We’re just reaching out for any help or support you feel moved to give—whether it’s financial, sharing this story, or even just keeping us in your thoughts. Every donation will go toward treatment-related expenses, daily living costs, and making sure Robin has the time and space she needs to focus on healing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Thank you for caring. And thank you for being a part of this fight with us.
With gratitude,
