Help Robin: Een Strijd voor Leven en Waardigheid

Hallo, ik ben Fleur, en ik vraag om hulp voor mijn kind, Robin.

Robin is 18 jaar geleden geboren met het Pfeiffer Syndroom Type II, een zeldzame aandoening die ernstige afwijkingen in haar schedel, luchtwegen en skelet veroorzaakt, wat leidt tot talloze medische complicaties. Ondanks deze uitdagingen is Robin geestelijk helemaal intact, maar heeft ze 24/7 verpleging nodig.

Nu ze 18 wordt, verandert alles. In Nederland wordt de zorg geregeld via de WLZ (Wet langdurige zorg), maar haar aanvraag voor extra zorg is nog niet goedgekeurd. Vanaf volgende week moeten we al het verpleegkundig personeel ontslaan en haar zorg zelf beheren. Dit is simpelweg te veel voor ons tweeën, vooral omdat we ook niet meer kunnen werken.

De directe toekomst van Robin is somber: haar opleiding stopt, haar hoop op een diploma of toekomstig onafhankelijkheid verdwijnt, en onze financiële stabiliteit brokkelt af. Zonder inkomen kunnen we onze hypotheek niet meer betalen en staan we voor de mogelijkheid om ons huis te verliezen, met nergens anders om naar uit te wijken vanwege bureaucratische obstakels.

Ik ben gebroken, want Robin staat pas aan het begin van haar herstel na operaties, met meer ingrepen in het vooruitzicht. We zitten vast in een systeem dat de waarde van een mensenleven lijkt te negeren, en we zijn wanhopig op zoek naar steun.

Ik vraag u vriendelijk om hulp. Elke bijdrage, hoe klein ook, zal ons helpen om wat tijd te kopen totdat we de zorg voor Robin kunnen regelen. Als we de WLZ op tijd kunnen krijgen, zullen we uw bijdragen gebruiken om nieuwe verpleegkundigen aan te nemen en op te leiden. Eventuele resterende fondsen zullen in een stichting voor Robin's toekomst worden gestopt.

Help Robin: A Fight for Life and Dignity

Hi, I’m Fleur, and I’m reaching out for my child, Robin.

Robin was born 18 years ago with Pfeiffer Syndrome Type II, a rare condition causing severe abnormalities in the skull, airway, and skeletal structure, leading to numerous medical complications. Despite these challenges, Robin remains intellectually sound but requires 24/7 nursing care.

As Robin turns 18, everything changes. In the Netherlands, care is managed through the WLZ (Long-Term Care Act), but the application for additional care has not yet been approved. Starting next week, we will have to let go of all nursing support and manage Robin's care ourselves. This is simply too much for just two people, especially as our ability to work will be severely impacted.

Robin’s immediate future is bleak: education is halted, hopes for a diploma or future independence are vanishing, and our financial stability is crumbling. Without income, we face losing our home and have nowhere to turn for suitable housing due to bureaucratic obstacles.

I am devastated, as Robin is only just beginning recovery from surgeries, with more procedures ahead. We are caught in a system that seems to disregard the value of human life, and we are desperate for support.

I kindly ask for your help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us buy time until we can secure the care Robin desperately needs. If we can get the WLZ sorted, we will use your contributions to hire and train new nurses. Any remaining funds will go into a foundation for Robin’s future.
