For those of you who don’t know, our dear friend and neighbor Robin Samas has been fighting bladder cancer for the last 7 years and thus far, has defied every diagnosis they've given him! However, recently Robin has also been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare bone cancer). This has required him to focus his treatments and attention on this new situation - and we'd like to step up as a community to carry him through it victoriously. I've shared his full story below so that you can get to know him better; what we're hoping to accomplish is raise at least $10,000 to support his living expenses while he recovers from surgery. Knowing Robin, he will be back, with a smile on his face in no time! He just needs a bit of help short-term. Thank you everyone for keeping Robin in your hearts!! ♡

Osteosarcoma is considered a “Grade A” aggressive cancer. Robin was told he needed surgery immediately. Essentially, he was told his options were to amputate his leg below the knee or attempt to remove the tumor, replace the bone and implement a skin graft to repair his leg. Obviously, both were unbelievable choices! Robin opted for the bone replacement and went into surgery on April 10th.
Robin will require hospitalization for a min of 7-10 days following his surgery. As most of you know, Robin makes his living by helping all of us in the neighborhood and friends/family with multiple projects/tasks. Given that Robin will be unable to work for at least 3 months post-surgery, we have created this new "GoFundMe" account. We are aiming to raise at least $10,000 to help him cover his living expenses for a few months while he recovers.
Shortly after the surgery, Robin will be able to continue treatment to augment the surgery and continue to fight both cancers.
After sharing this devastating news with our friends and neighbors, many people have asked how they can help. So we've created this GoFundMe! If you are able to donate it will go a long way toward helping Robin and his family with upcoming medical costs and covering house/living expenses while he recovers. If you feel led, please also share this fundraiser with your friends and communities through email or social media.
Any amount is greatly appreciated! If you know Robin, you KNOW how kind, generous and helpful he is to all of his friends, neighbors and family,. Now, is our time to be there for him! Believe me, every bit helps.
Robin is a ray of light in our neighborhood! We are incredibly thankful and grateful for everyone’s continued compassion and support during this difficult time. We're praying for a successful surgery, quick recovery and remission! ✞
