This week on April 7th, 2026, my family and I have been reeling from the unexpected news that my mother, Robin Eastman, has metastatic cancer. A month or so ago she had a diagnosis of pneumonia... Which led to some hospital visits, follow ups etc... once cleared from the pneumonia she just wasn't bouncing back. More Dr visits revealed the culprit was the cancer. Many more tests are coming this week. The weakening of her body is moving along quickly and she is getting weaker daily.. this has made it hard for her to get up and down the front steps... even with the help of her partner Dan, it is a struggle. She has been having to use a sit down walker in the house and while out an about as well.. but she will be getting a wheelchair this coming week. Their modular home will need a front porch and 53ft long ADA compliant wheelchair ramp built ASAP due to the height of the front door of the home and sidewalk slope leading to the driveway. Due to the length the ramp needs at least one 5x5 landing at the 30ft mark to break up the long run. The estimated cost of just materials needed is between 6-8k dollars. We know enough people who are willing to donate time to help build, they just don't have the financial resources right now to get the materials.
Please consider donating to help Mom and Dan in this pressing matter. Any funds given above the amount needed for ramp materials will go to helping cover other items or materials needed to make the home more wheelchair friendly. Thank you all for your support, prayers, and love!!
