My name is Robert Redmayne Hosking. For the past 13 years, i have been the sole, full- time care giver for my beloved mother during her long and difficult illness. I gave everything i had- my time, my energy, my career opportunities and much of my own health - to ensure she received the love, dignity and comfort she deserved in the familiar surroundings of our home. It was the hardest role I've ever taken on, but also the most meaningful and rewarding one.

On January 12th 2026, Mom passed away, leaving an enormous void in my heart while i find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering, the reality of life after caregiving has hit hard. Over those 13 years, i sacrificed employment to be by her side 24/7 leading to depleted savings and health problems with no safety net for myself.

Now, I'm facing the challenge of rebuilding my health- after years of exhaustion and burnout, while also stabilising my finances.

This GofundMe is to help cover immediate needs, prioritising medical check ups and treatment for health issues that built up over years of non-stop care, and covering basic living expenses, food/rent/ utilities in the coming months as my health improves enough for me to actively search for work and regain my footing in the job market.

My fundraising goal is £5,000 which includes a small £200 buffer to help cover GoFundMe processing fees so more of your generous donations go directly to my needs.
