Help Roberto Vivanco recover

UPDATE: APRIL 19

I went to visit Robert yesterday. Unfortunately, he was sleeping and I wasn’t able to see him.

His parents updated me on his current condition.

Although Robert is home he is in a delicate situation. His brain is still swollen and still has clots. The doctors are expecting his body to dissolve the clots.

Life for him and his family has drastically changed. He cannot be left alone for any period. He needs help walking, and he suffers from memory loss but he is lucid for short periods.

Robert’s recovery will take a long time and they aren’t sure to what extent he will fully recover. He will need different therapies to relearn basic daily tasks.

Sadly much of this could’ve been prevented. He was experiencing frequent headaches, dizziness, nausea along with high blood pressure.

His doctor disregarded his symptoms and initially refused CT or MRI scans. The doctor also denied him FMLA paperwork which led to a sequence of events that could have been avoided.

At work Robert was concerned about how his attendance would affect his employment. He continued to come to work with severe headaches, vomiting, and dizziness.

To our AA Family please have this serve as a reminder to take care of yourselves and be mindful of your co-workers. Health first! YOU are not replaceable but your job is! We must do better so this doesn’t happen to someone else.

Those of you who know Robert, know he is humble, caring and takes pride in his job. He is truly a good soul.

Robert is out of sick time and does not have short or long-term disability.

His parents ask for prayers and are grateful for those who have reached out. Now is the time for any help you can give and please donate to his Go Fund Me.

Robert is being released from the hospital today!

He will still be needing many different therapies. This will still be a long road to recovery. Robert will not be able to work for a long period of time.

Robert’s treatment path and recovery time is unknown. He is in a delicate situation and it’s day to day.

The doctors have informed the family he faces a long road to recovery. He will need multiple therapies to regain everyday tasks.
