Roberto Ortiz is a police officer in Mexico who gave everything in the line of duty. While serving his community, Roberto was attacked by cartel members who intentionally rammed him with a vehicle. The injuries were so severe that both of his legs had to be amputated above the knees. Since then, he has faced not only the physical and emotional toll of this trauma, but also the heartbreaking reality that neither his department nor his country is providing the support he needs to get the prosthetics that could restore his mobility and independence. His current prosthetic legs are due to expire in just 6 months, making this need especially urgent.
This fundraiser will help Roberto get the advanced, high-performance above-knee prosthetics he urgently needs, along with the medical fittings, rigorous physical therapy, specialized maintenance, and immediate day-to-day transitional support that come with them. These are not simply replacement legs. They are the tools Roberto needs to safely navigate everyday obstacles, manage environments that are not accessible, regain his independence, and continue working in law enforcement in a new capacity. Please support Roberto Ortiz by donating if you can and sharing this fundraiser with others. Every act of kindness will help him rebuild his life, reclaim his routine, and continue serving his community with dignity and strength.
