Help Robert with Heart saving medical bills!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Allison and I’m here in hopes of raising money to help my parents, Stepdad to be specific with current & future medical bills…

My stepdad Robert has always been a non-stop person. He is constantly finding something to do, volunteering to help someone, and consistently putting others above himself. However, his world would change on December 3. When he was putting up Christmas lights, he felt slight chest pain and thought it was indigestion. The next day, a dry cough started. After seeing a doctor on December 7, he was diagnosed with bronchitis. When his health started to decline, he saw another doctor at urgent care on December 9, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He was given different meds and was told to report any swelling on his feet and ankles.

On December 13, the doctor told my mom to take him to an ER. At Methodist, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF) and admitted immediately. In addition to his weak heart, his kidneys were also showing distress from overworking to help his heart. He was put on heart meds and diuretics to reduce the fluids in his body. A test also showed a small blood clot in his heart. He suffered a stroke on December 16 due to a small fragment of the clot going to his brain. He had a slight vision loss but had no other issues. Robert continued his meds regiment and stayed in cardiac ICU. On Christmas day, his heart stopped. He received two minutes of CPR and was revived with all vitals back to prior. He was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat and was implanted with a defibrillator on December 27. He applied for a heart transplant where he had to receive several tests to see if he qualified. He was allowed to come home on December 30.

On January 5, Robert had a follow-up for his defibrillator. He was having issues with shortness of breath, and his ankles were starting to swell. He was sent to the ER at Methodist shortly after his appointment. He was suffering again from CHF and was admitted again to Methodist. Robert was given diuretics to control the fluids but was on close watch for his kidney function. Robert continued to have issues with fluid which went to his lungs. On January 12, a procedure was performed to remove 1 liter of fluid, and his breathing improved greatly. Unfortunately, X-rays on January 13 showed fluid was building up again in his lungs. The heart team adjusted his meds and are keeping a careful eye on his kidneys.

He has been informed that he is a good candidate for a heart transplant. They are wanting to escalate his case for the transplant since his kidneys are functioning good at this time. We want to thank everyone for their blessings and continue asking God for his guidance as we go through this “cross bearing” challenge in life.

If you would like to help Robert, you can also use Cash App ($robertmargieben), Venmo (Ally Christine), or Zelle. Thank you all so much for your love and support.
