Update:

Our colleague and friend, Robert Weisgerber, passed away on August 13th 2018, after courageously battling Glioblastoma MF, a very lethal form of brain cancer.

Please, let’s help Robert’s wife Lisa, and children Caleb, Alexa and Sophie with their financial burden so that they can focus on healing at this difficult time.

Robert, we miss you so much! Our team will never be the same without you and your amazing, genuine ability to connect with each of us every day.

Our colleague and friend, Robert Weisgerber,  was diagnosed with brain cancer in Feb of 2017 (Stage 4 Glioblastoma MF).

He has been bravely fighting and his family (wife Lisa and children Caleb, Alexa and Sophie) has been by his side every step of the way.

Their focus has been in keeping Robert as comfortable as possible and dealing with all of the daily challenges that come with such a diagnosis.

We would like to raise money to help the family to deal with the situation. There are many daily expenses that need attention for which we can help.

Here is some background behind the establishment of this fund.  From Jennifer Adach:

During a visit that I had with the family in early May, Lisa shared a story about having to figure out how to add power steering fluid to Robert's Audi (which has had a very slow leak for some time).  She was so proud of the fact that that she (along with some help from her phone and Google) was able to figure out which bottle of fluid to use and where to use it in his car and she wanted me to pass the story on to Jamie, my husband, who is a mechanic and has worked on their cars in the past.  She was so proud of being able to figure it out on her own.  She had to deal with all of this on a day that was particularly stressful because of Dr. appointments and having to get the kids to what seemed like three places at once.

It took me a few days but I had an “aha” moment and finally realized that this would be a great way (for my family and the rest of Robert’s Nokia family) to help out the family during this difficult time.  My husband works for his father, Jim, who has owned his own automotive repair shop here in Redmond since 1977 (and as stated above they have serviced each of their cars in the past).  Jim is truly once of the most honest and kind-hearted people I know and he agreed to provide the servicing for Lisa’s Acura up-front without any type of payment.  I would, of course, like to get him reimbursed for parts and for Jamie’s labor.  There was a rather long list of things that needed to be done as the odometer was close to 200,000 miles.

I texted Lisa and suggested that we should get the cars in for servicing and wellness checks and then go from there.

She replied via text "Jennifer, what an unexpected text that brought tears and deeply warmed our hearts."  And in a separate text "Thanks again for the car check ups and helping us think through the details of life that have been unintentionally pushed to the back burner".

Please help us in raising the funds needed to cover the unplanned car repairs.  In my opinion this is simply not something that they should have to deal with at a time that every dollar is precious and is needed to go towards living expenses and the many out-of-pocket medical expenses that Lisa is having to manage.

Thank you all so much for the consideration and the financial help.  Lisa and Robert are both extremely thankful for all of the help including encouraging text messages and e-mails.
