Help Robert Tingey Rebuild His Life
Donation protected
Hello all. My name is Amie Tingey, and my husband, Robert Tingey, had a stroke in his brain stem on April 28, 2025. He initially lost the ability to use the left side of his body shortly after getting him to the hospital. He was in a rehabilitation center an hour away from where we live for two and a half weeks. He has made significant progress, but his heart function is down to 30%, and he is unable to walk very much or use his left hand. He will not be able to return to work at this time, and we're not sure if he ever will be able to. About a year and a half earlier, he had a TIA, but we never expected this to happen, and it seems as though life has taken a drastic turn. Rob used to run our record store while I worked my state job. Now, he is no longer able to provide at this time, and I am trying desperately to keep us afloat by working both jobs, but due to the circumstances, we are barely hanging on. I am in the process of filing SSD for him, but that takes a while, and I am afraid that we will not be able to make it. We didn't want to ask for help since we try to do things on our own, but with my income from my job and the income from our record store only 20 hours a week, we are not able to pay all of our bills and are now behind on our rent. If anyone would like to donate to us at all through this time, we would be ever so grateful. Thank you.
