On November 14th at 4:41 PM, Robert and Sarah Levis welcomed their first baby, Lilly Grace, into the world — 9 weeks earlier than expected. She weighs just over 3 pounds and is about 15 inches long. Her arrival was such a blessing, but it also came during a very unexpected medical emergency.
Sarah was diagnosed with preeclampsia, and things progressed so quickly that she was taken by ambulance from Bluffton to MUSC in Charleston. Thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses and God’s grace — Lilly made her entrance safely. She is now in the NICU at MUSC, where she’ll need to stay until she’s strong enough to come home.
Because Robert and Sarah live in Yemassee, they’re having to make the trip back and forth to Charleston several times a week. Between gas, hotel, food, and medical expenses, the cost is adding up fast.
Robert has lived on Daufuskie his entire life and now has a career as a boat captain with Haig Point on Daufuskie. Anyone who knows Robert knows he has always been the type to step up and help others without asking for anything in return. Sarah is currently working at Belk's but spent several years caring for people’s pets and homes on Daufuskie before they moved to Yemassee. With Lilly arriving so early and Sarah still recovering, she won’t be able to return to work anytime in the foreseeable future.
We want to help lift a little of the burden so they can focus on what really matters — Lilly growing stronger and Sarah taking the time she needs to heal.
Thank you so much for supporting Robert, Sarah, and baby Lilly Grace. Please keep this sweet family in your thoughts and prayers.
With love,
Robert, Sarah, Yvonne, Lori, Tyler, and all of Lilly Grace’s family
