Update: Thanks to the kindness and support people have shown, we have a cleaning crew going into my apartment this week to finally start turning it back into a safe and livable home. We’re also working on getting a dog walker or pet sitter lined up for next so Ace’s tubby ass can get the love and care he deserves while I focus on healing.

On the morning of November 6th, I suffered a heart attack that changed my life in an instant. After several days of urgent monitoring, I underwent coronary bypass surgery on November 12th. I was discharged from the hospital on the 15th and have been spending the past couple of weeks recovering at my mom’s home, where my family has been helping care for me as I heal.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help make my home safer and more comfortable as I continue my recovery. There are several things I need to take care of before I can safely return to my own place — from basic safety upgrades to adjustments that will help me move around and take care of myself without risking further strain.
