My name is Robert, and I am reaching out for help after months of hardship and uncertainty. I am a former US Enlisted Naval Officer, and throughout my life, I have faced challenges head-on. But this period has been overwhelming, even for me. After losing my left leg and part of my right foot, I found myself on the streets for three months, facing violence and losing all my possessions. The day before I went to prison, my SUV and all my belongings—including my prosthetic leg—were stolen. I entered prison malnourished and bedridden, and came out on parole weak and struggling to recover. I have been brutalized and victimized by many, but I see that so many others are desperate for help as well.
