Earlier this week, a five-alarm fire tore through Robert’s apartment building in Squirrel Hill, leaving him with almost nothing. While we are grateful he and the other tenants made it out safely, the damage was devastating. Most of his belongings, including everyday essentials like clothing, shoes, and furniture, were destroyed. The firefighters were able to recover a single heirloom from his grandfather, but everything else is gone. Without renter's insurance, Robert now faces the overwhelming task of starting from scratch.
Robert is someone who has always put effort and dedication into everything he does. He also has maintained good spirits and a sense of humor throughout this incredibly traumatic event. One of the first things he said after the initial shock of the fire was, "I need to get running shoes so I can continue my marathon training." He also loves connecting with friends over late-night gaming sessions and fly fishing with his dad and brother. Anyone who knows him knows that once he puts his mind to something, Rob will not stop until it is done, but no one should have to rebuild from nothing alone.
This fundraiser will go toward helping Robert get back on his feet by covering immediate essentials and easing the heavy costs of replacing what he lost. Every contribution makes a real difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page or even your kind words and encouragement means the world to us too.
Thank you for helping Rob through this incredibly difficult time. Your support brings him one step closer to stability, comfort, and getting back to the life he worked so hard to build.
