I will start off by saying that it is not easy for me to ask for help. I have to swallow my pride and and ask those that can, please help. My son is a Muay Thai fighter. He has been given the opportunity to represent the USA in the 170lb division at the World Muay Thai Championships in Verona Italy. If this was 4 years ago I would be able to do it all myself. I have been out of work for 8 of the last 18 months. Our family is still working towards getting back to a good place and can not do this on our own. My son is not a freeloader, he works a full time job and trains everyday. He took accelerated online programs to graduate Highschool early and only took 3 months off before starting as an electricians apprentice. He is in his 3rd year of school and is doing great, he just does not make enough money to pay for the cost of travel to his fights. My wife and I were fortunate enough to be able to pay for his plane tickets to Thailand for his 18th birthday. He saved all the rest of the money that he would need for housing, food and training. What did this, then 18 year old do in Thailand, he trained twice and day and fought every other week, winning two titles while he was there. He didn't party or get in trouble, he is very dedicated to his goals. On December 28th he had his first fight here in the US and won by knock out in the second round, making him the welterweight champion for the Northwest Kickboxing Associations Muay Thai group. As his father I, of course, think he is the best. It has been conversations with professional coaches and other pro fighters that he has sparred with that convinced me that he IS as good as I thought he was. I would love for my son to be able see his dreams and goals come true and fight professionally. Whether it is for a professional Muay Thai organization or a MMA organization, he will be a champion! Because our state does not sanction Muay Thai he has to travel to fight. He currently has invitations to Italy, Delaware and New York as well as a defense of his title in Washington State. We need help to be able to get him there. The fight promotions will sometimes pay for a portion of the cost but we never know how much we will have to pay. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Sometime in the very near future you could see "Riot" Robert Owen on pay-per-view!!!!!!!
