Hello,
My name is Michelle and I’ve been a professional writer for over a decade. The story I’m about to share now is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write.
I just received the devastating news that another life was cut short by a drunk driver. The victim was my stepdaughter’s husband, a young man named Robert Lewis.
Jasmin and Robert met in high school, when Jasmin relocated from Las Vegas to Colorado Springs, to live with her biological mother.
These two high school sweethearts became parents at an early age, when their daughter Desire was born in 2008.
Against the odds, Jasmin and Robert stayed together. As their love, commitment and bond grew deeper, their family grew bigger as well. Their daughter Alya is three years old and Bali, born during the pandemic in 2020, just recently turned one.
Robert Lewis was 29 years old. He was killed when he was on his way home to his family. At around 9:30 PM, on April 24, 2021, the suspect driver was allegedly making an unprotected left turn from North Academy on to Rebecca lane at the exact same moment that Robert was passing through the intersection.
Robert crashed into the SUV, which then fled the scene. Robert died while paramedics were trying to save him. The driver of the SUV was caught and arrested a short time later.
Robert was very close with his children, especially his 12-year-old daughter, Desire. He was a loving father, son, husband and brother that will desperately be missed by everyone that loved him.
Please help the Lewis family give Robert the memorial he deserves. The funds raised here will go straight to Jasmin and her children, to help pay for funeral costs and anything else the family needs during this difficult time.
