Hello, my name is Robert Kanavel, and I’m reaching out for help during a time of overwhelming hardship for me and my daughters, Jazlene (12) and Madilene (10). After being laid off from my job as a maintenance technician, I’ve been working tirelessly to find stability, but the weight of not being able to provide for my girls has been crushing.
I’ve worked conruction since I was 15 yrs old, gaining over 20 years of experience, ncluding time as a millwright. Despite my dedication and skills, I’ve struggled to find new work. I’ve applied to several places, including KGHM Robinson, where I worked for 7 ½ years, but I haven’t received any replies. This has left me feeling desperate as a father, knowing my daughters are depending on me. On top of the emotional burden, our financial struggles have only worsen. We’re facing a past-due electric bill, an upcoming phone bil
I can’t pay, and the inability to cover our basic needs like food and rent. Without a vehicle—sold to keep a roof over our heads—even daily tasks like grocery shopping or attending job interviews have become nearly impossible.
My health challenges
add another layer of difficulty. Since undergoing a laminectomy and spinal fusion surgery in 2018, I’ve lived with chronic pain and loose screws in my spine. My severe vision issues (+10 and +12) make it even harder to work safely and effectively, but I can’t afford the glasses or contacts I desperately need.
I’ve been applying to jobs, including a position with USPS, but while I wait for opportunities to come through, I’m praying for a miracle to help us get through this difficult time. My biggest prayer is for a way to meet our basic needs, restore my vision, and hopefully secure reliable transportation so I can provide for my girls the way a father should.
Through all of this, we’ve been blessed by the kindness of someone who feels like a true angel sent by God. Their generosity has been a lifeline, but I know I can’t rely on one person to shoulder this burden. That’s why I’m reaching out to ask for help.
If you’re able to assist—whether it’s a donation, sharing this post, or even lifting us up in prayer—please know that it means more to us than words can express. Every dollar or kind gesture brings us closer to keeping the lights on, ensuring my daughters have food on the table, and giving me the tools I need to get back on my feet.
From the depths of my heart, and on behalf of Jazlene and Madilene, I thank you. I pray that every blessing you give is returned to you tenfold, and that God’s love and provision overflow in your life.
With deep gratitude,
Robert Kanavel
