Help Robert Johnson Live with ALS

Hi, I am Ashley Johnson, daughter of Robert Johnson. I am starting a GoFundMe for my dad. Most of you who know him, know he was diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. After being diagnosed, he had to retire from his business as he was no longer able to work. He had started AJ Glass back in 1995 out of his parents' garage until 1999 when he was able to build his own shop attached to his house. He was a hard worker. There was never a day that man wasn't doing something in the shop or outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and showing his grandsons how to fix things. I had the privilege to hunt last year alongside my dad for what would be his last time out in his stand that we all called the "Taj Mahal." Watching someone who was strong and hardworking slowly become crippled by this disease is heartbreaking. My dad is not the type to ask for help or favors; he was the one that was helping and doing favors for others. As this disease is slowly declining his health, there is more that he needs to do every day life.

The average cost for a person with ALS is over $200,000 and can be more as they need more help with the progression of it. We are coming into year 5 of his diagnosis, which is amazing. Most life expectancy is 2-5 years after being diagnosed.

I am raising funds for the costs of a ramp and walk-in shower to be built to help make everyday life easier. Without a ramp, he can't get a wheelchair and is housebound. Please consider donating and helping this incredible, giving man.
