On Sunday, August 4th. Robert was taking care of some HOA-required yard work, including trimming his palm tree. While working, he fell off a 20 foot ladder, which came crashing down on top of him. Robert was home alone at the time. Thankfully, his son Lyrell and daughter-in-law Sam found him and immediately called for help. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, suffering from severe internal bleeding and life-threatening injuries.

At the hospital, Robert was admitted to the ICU. Over the next three days, he endured three major surgeries at Desert Banner’s Level 1 Trauma Center. His condition was critical—he was unconscious for an extended period and nearly lost his life due to a severe lung infection. He shattered his pelvis and elbow, fractured countless ribs and spent six weeks in a medically induced coma.

During this time Robert's mother Vera, and Stephanie, his wife, never left his side. Vera staying at the hospital during the day and Stephanie at night, only going home briefly to shower and grab fresh clothes. Lyrell and Sam stepped in to take care of their pets and home, allowing Stephanie to focus solely on Robert’s recovery.

The road ahead is long and uncertain. Robert will require extensive rehabilitation, ongoing medical care, and time to heal. The financial burden of medical expenses and lost income is overwhelming. We humbly ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, big or small, will help cover medical bills, therapy, and essential expenses while Robert fights to regain his strength. Robert was born and raised on the Hopi Nation. He proudly served in the US Army for 8 years. He was stationed for 4 years at Fort Bragg NC 82nd airborne and 4 years at Fort Richardson army base in Anchorage AK.
