My name is Doug Laughlin. I am a friend of Robert Gieskens. He is a commercial fisherman who's worked out of Pillar Point Harbor for many, many years. I have a boat at Pillar Point Harbor and see Robert all the time. Robert was involved in a collision while riding his bicycle on Airport Boulevard in Moss Beach. Robert was hit by a motorcycle that was speeding and sustained major injuries. He's currently in Stanford Hospital, recovering from many broken bones.

My neighbor, Kerry Davis, has taken care of next month's slip rental for Robert, but he will have many other expenses to take care of. It will probably take many, many months for Robert to get back to the simplest tasks. We are trying to make his recovery as easy as possible by raising some funds to pay his bills. And, we are all looking forward to the day that Robert is back to his normal self.
