Help Robert Get Life-Saving Transplants
Donation protected
Robert's story goes back to 2021 when he was put in the hospital with Covid Pneumonia. He ended up staying 32 days. He was sent home with oxygen and never returned to work. Robert has endured a lot of ups and downs with his lungs. He has had to learn to live a new normal with only having under half lung capacity. Robert has Interstitial Lung Disease. Nothing can be done to treat, fix, or reverse his lung disease. The only option is a double lung transplant. There is no other cure. A transplant like this will allow Robert to regain some quality of life. We went to MUSC the first week of November for his evaluation, and they told us that not only will Robert have to have a double lung transplant, he will also have to have his kidneys transplanted at the same time. They advised us that in order to do this, we will need $15,000 in the bank prior to the transplant to be able to stay in Charleston. Robert is now in Florence on oxygen and he may need a transplant sooner than we thought right now he is unable to breathe without oxygen and his oxygen is dipping even though he is wearing oxygen. Once The doctors get the inflammation subsided we will know just how much damage this has caused. These funds are one of the checklist items that the transplant team advised us we needed ahead of time. If for some reason Robert can’t get a transplant the funds will go back to the person that donated. Robert has a purpose . Robert is the light in his Grandkids eyes and this has been the most life-altering experience we have ever been through. We thank you for all your prayers and support. Every little bit helps. If you can’t donate, we certainly understand that too. Prayers are welcomed. Thank you all for everything.
