I’m Robert, the owner of manalegalai.org, and I’m raising funds for myself because this app was built out of my own lived experience. I say the Jamestown, South Carolina Police Department violated my civil rights through illegal search and seizure, falsifying or possibly forging government documents, lying on documents, misrepresenting witnesses, leaving out witnesses who were there, adding witnesses who were not, and lying about the location and what was found. I also say I was denied my right to a jury trial and faced repeated delays. I now have a live federal case docketed in Charleston, South Carolina against the police department and others involved. When I was trying to get help, lawyers hung up on me, told me helping would be career suicide, or said they could not help at all. That pressure and isolation are what led me to build this app.

Manalegalai.org is my answer to what I went through and to the gap I found when I needed help most. The app is available in all 50 states and was built from my experience so other people can have a tool that helps them get what they need onto the docket, raise attention to their cases, and learn how to handle their case. Important: it does not represent users, and it is not legal advice. I’m still working setting up mobile and manufactured homes, and I need help so I can quit my job, rent an office I have found, and focus full-time on developing this app and the larger platform behind it. Because this work and these expenses continue over time, recurring donations would give me predictable support to maintain a workspace and keep building, improving, and growing this tool for people who feel shut out of the system.
