Hi, friends! It's been a tough couple of months for me ever since my home and neighborhood were flooded after the heavy rain from April. My county in southwest Indiana was not declared as a disaster area by local authorities, and as a result, FEMA assistance has not been an option.

Restoration costs have been quoted to me in the 15K-30K range. I have been living in a motel since the flooding, and that is only because of the generosity of the American Red Cross, Tzu Chi USA, and one church - this is after I had depleted my savings on the same motels. I have reached out to numerous other charitable organizations with no luck.

The closest shelters are 2+ hours away, but I need power and some space to house my medical equipment. I would also like to stay close to my dialysis clinic here.

Any amount you can help me is overwhelmingly appreciated. I am in a pretty dire situation, just trying to manage my day-to-day.

I moved in, the house was as ready as I could make it. I still have tons to do. The very most important thing is to have my house raised above the levy height. So I never have to worry about it flooding again. I have a price coming for it.

Then I need to replace so much. My kitchen cabinets are barely usable and the sink is in rough shape. I really need to eventually change out the shower from a tub to a walk in. Having only one lag changes things. All the walls are just paneling and they are badly warped from the water. The water system has been glued and duck taped together and the the electric was not installed up to code. Just to name a couple things.

I am so grateful for every penny donated and every prayer and well wish that was spoken on my behalf.

I never would have made it back without the help of friends and loves ones. Without all of you.
