Hi, my name is Shamana Seeger. I was born and raised on Maui, and I’m raising funds on behalf of my dad, Robby Seeger, and my younger brother during an incredibly difficult time for our family.
My dad moved to Maui from Germany when he was just 16 years old, after falling in love with the ocean and water sports. He went on to become a two-time windsurfing world champion, a Windsurfing Hall of Fame inductee, and the founder of Epic Swim Maui.
Recently, my dad was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, which then led to congestive heart failure. Doctors discovered that fluid was building up in his lungs and that he was dangerously close to losing his life. He now urgently needs a cardiac ablation, a procedure estimated to cost between $50,000 and $100,000. Due to his condition, he is currently unable to work, and the medical expenses are overwhelming.
As we were trying to process this news, our family received another devastating call. My younger brother was involved in a near-fatal motorcycle accident alongside his friend. A truck traveling high speed on the Maʻalaea Highway ran both of them off the road. Both motorcycles were totaled, and both boys sustained serious injuries.
My brother has been hospitalized and will be wheelchair-bound for an extended period of time. He will require around-the-clock care, medical support, and home accommodations during his recovery.
My dad has always been my inspiration — my lighthouse — especially now, as I am finding my own path in the ocean and water sports. I want to do everything I can to help both my dad and my brother heal and recover during this impossible moment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story. Any donation, share, or prayer truly means the world to our family and helps give us a chance to heal and move forward.
With gratitude,
Shamana
