Every family has an anchor. They have the person or people who keep them steady through the hardest times in our life.
For our family, Auntie Robbin and Uncle Robert have been that anchor. They have offered all of us a safe harbor over the years. Whether it was a spare bed or a driving lesson…we knew they always had an open door and open hearts.
In an awful turn of events, Uncle Robert has become gravely ill. The main arteries of heart were occluded. Ideally, he would undergo open heart surgery, but his body is much too sick. His lungs are beyond the point of rehabilitation. He struggles to breathe and cannot be without oxygen. The only option given was a shunt, which offered some relief but was a far cry from the miracle he needs.
Without undergoing a lung transplant, all Uncle Robert can do at this point is use oxygen, take medicine and pray in hopes it will marginally improve his quality of life. He has spent a tremendous amount of time in the hospital. It is possible and likely he will spend much of the remainder of his life in and out of hospital care. Because of this, and the fact he can longer work…bills are piling up.
Our family is helplessly standing by while Aunt Robbin and Uncle Robert try to stay afloat. We are asking for donations, big and small to help ease the burden of hospital bills for these two amazing people. They are two of the most generous and kind people in this world. They need our help, though they’d never ask for it. Any little bit can help.
We cannot heal Uncle Robert or even ease his pain. We cannot heal his broken spirit. The one thing we can do is help ward off the impending financial devastation. Let’s show them that little miracles can happen. It is time for all of us to be their anchor.
Thank you for all donations. Every penny will used to pay medical bills and cover prescription costs.
