Robbie was born into the cruel Greyhound Racing Industry in Ireland in 2019.

He was moved over to Sunderland to race, we don't know what happened but he was later rescued by the RSPCA in Durham. He was found underweight, locked in a back yard with burnt paws due to standing in his own urine.

I adopted him from RSPCA Felledge in August 2022. He was the first dog I've had, we were both as nervous as each other in the beginning!

We very quickly became best friends, we helped each other, he saved me and I saved him ❤️

Robbie (and mum) are born adventurers, we LOVE exploring new places (and sniffs). In the three and a bit years I've had Robbie we have been on hundreds of amazing walks and adventures. Mainly in the North East, but also Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Scotland.

I noticed a small lump on Robbies side in mid March, I wasn't particularly concerned and assumed it was just an age related fatty lump, we took him to the vets just to be sure.

After a fine needle aspiration, Xray and full biopsy he was diagnosed with the dreaded Cancer. We were in shock and disbelief as he seemed his normal happy fun loving self.

His diagnosis is Hemangiosarcoma of the rib. We visited a specialist Oncologist who gave us several treatment options, none are a cure just a way of hopefully having more time with Robbie.

We had lots of adventures planned for Robbie in the future, and we would love to fulfill some of them whilst he is still well enough to travel and enjoy walks.

Also the cost of Vet treatment, diesel to appointments and back and the endless goodies and treats Robbie deserves is rapidly mounting up!

We don't feel entirely comfortable asking for help, it doesn't feel natural to us, but we are determined to give Robbie the absolute best possible life for the remaining time he has left with us.

We don't expect a lot, anything you can give would be massively appreciated, we have already been blown away by the support and kindness the world has showed our Robbie.
