My name is Robbie, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest times of my life. My ex-wife has taken me back to court for full custody of our daughter, Emery, and was granted an emergency order based on allegations that simply aren’t true. She’s petitioning for me to have only supervised visits, even though Emery’s safety with me has never been questioned. On top of that, she’s seeking spousal support and trying to raise our existing child support, despite being fully capable of working as a licensed therapist. She hasn’t worked in over a year, even though she is able to. Since our divorce in 2022, I’ve done everything I can to provide for Emery and her mother whenever they needed help. I work 50 hours a week and live paycheck to paycheck, but I’ve always put Emery first. Not seeing her since Friday has caused me immense anxiety and grief, and the thought of losing more time with her is heartbreaking. The burden of legal fees, the threat of increased child support, and the possibility of spousal support are overwhelming. I need to hire an attorney to fight for my rights as a parent, but I simply can’t afford one on my own. Donations will help me afford legal counsel, which I haven’t had in the past and is crucial for my case. The funds will also help us stay in our current apartment and go toward saving for a car, which would make it easier to care for Emery and get her where she needs to go.
