Hi, my name is Joni and I am starting this fundraiser to help my brother Rob with his medical bills and also help with the cost of a prosthetic leg. My brother recently moved out of state. In the middle of his home remodel, my brother stepped on a nail that went through his foot. He received medical care and was on antibiotics, but ten days later, after returning to the doctor with a fever, he was told he has an aggressive bone infection that had spread through-out all the bones in his foot and part of his lower leg. They admitted him to the hospital and removed his leg below the knee the next day.

Rob has had amazing care and our family and friends are so thankful he is healing, but now the after-effects are settling in. With the move, there was a lapse in medical insurance, as his old insurance, they found out, did not cover him out of state and they were looking at new insurance when this happened. Rob and his wife are having to cover the entire cost of the medical bills and also any physical therapy and prosthetic leg.

Anyone that knows my brother knows he's an awesome guy and he's always ready with the jokes to make people laugh. It may be corny, but the way I would say it is, he's "beloved by many". He holds a really special place in a lot of our hearts, including mine. He was excited about the change in his life with a new move and was still working on his home remodel and the unexpected medical expenses are hitting hard. I am hoping raising funds will relieve some of the blow of this traumatic event, at least monetarily, as he faces any new challenges.
