My name is Robert Turner and I am raising funds on behalf of myself with the support of my family. I was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.
To date in my journey I have already endured two intensive 28-day cycles of chemotherapy injections and pill medication at the Princess Margaret Hospital. While the Canadian healthcare system is wonderful, it unfortunately has its’ limitations especially when it comes to my cancer treatments. I am receiving a chemotherapy drug called Azacitidine in conjunction with another chemo drug called Venclexta. These medications are not covered by the Canadian government. I still have several more rounds of chemotherapy ahead me as well as a bone marrow transplant that has not yet been scheduled or approved for funding.
In order to continue my life-saving treatment, I will need ongoing chemotherapy and access to medications that are not fully covered. These medical expenses are significant and continue to add up so I am asking for your support.
As I move through treatment and recovery, I will also require caregiving support and assistance with daily living while my body heals. This means additional financial strain at a time when my focus needs to be solely on my health.
Every donation - no matter how small - will go directly toward my medical costs, medications and recovery needs. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean just as much to me.
Your kindness, generosity and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting me not only during the fight OF my life but the fight FOR my life! ❤️
With gratitude,
Robert Turner
