Hi my name is Rob. Since June I have been dealing with the effects of a severe infection that began in my left foot. In August I began an almost 2 month hospital stay where my right leg became paralyzed and the infection continued to be an issue. This resulted in a below the knee amputation in October. The summer saw me in and out of hospital due to the initial infection. I have not been home since August. Between hospital visits I have been in a nursing home/ rehab regaining strength and learning how to negotiate life as an amputee. This is a huge change to my life.

Because of this I have amassed almost $50,000 in costs related to hospital stays and care.

Also in order to go home I need to make changes to my home to make it accessible the largest of those changes would be making my bathroom accessible as well as the other needs that come with needing to use a wheelchair.

As said above the goal is to defray the costs that this experience has built up and help me be independent in my home.
