This past Wednesday, June 12th, my cousin, Rob Giannone was given some devastating news.
For the past 10 years Rob has struggled with a genetic condition affecting his heart. Years ago he had a defibrillator placed to help his heart function. Now he is in need of an urgent heart transplant.
He will be an inpatient at New York Presbyterian - Columbia hospital for 3-5 weeks to undergo testing for when a match becomes available.
His wife, Emily, and 2 year old daughter, Peyton are at home in Pennsylvania. Emily will visit on weekends, but he will only be able to FaceTime with Peyton because she’s too young to visit him in the hospital.
Anyone who knows Rob knows he is a fun loving, hard worker who lives for his family. Rob will be unable to work for several months. If you are able to, please help his family manage medical costs and other financial burdens they will incur as they continue on this difficult journey.
