Hey Everyone!
Thank you for taking a minute to check out my gofundme. For those of you that aren't familiar with my health story, I would love it if you would take a few minutes to read it below. Just know in advance that any support you can give is greatly appreciated by me and my family.
At the beginning of 2016 is when I started to notice that things weren't quite right. At my heaviest, I weighed in at about 220, which for my height (5'10"), suggested that I needed to start losing some weight. Still, I hadn't done anything to begin that weightloss process, but the pounds started falling off. At first, it was kind of nice because I received compliments that I looked good, and my clothes felt a bit looser. The problem was that I never stopped losing weight. I wasn't working out, nor was I on any kind of a diet, but my weight continued to drop.
After having lost over 40 pounds with no explanation as to why and I began experiencing some horrible symptoms that essentially were preventing my body from absorbing any of the nutrients I was eating, my family and friends began to voice their concern. So, I began what has now been a several month journey of seeing doctors and specialists and having more tests run on me than I can count. The more doctors I see, the more tests they run, and the more prescriptions I take, nothing improves. In fact, I continue to lose weight and feel increasingly weak and frail. After almost 11 long months of feeling sick and losing weight, I currently weigh only 145 pounds. That's 75 pounds lost without explanation, and I've received no answers from any of the doctors I've seen. Every test comes back negative.
Until this past week. I ventured out and went to see a holistic doctor in hopes that he might be able to shed some light on what is going on with me. For the first time all year, I finally have a glimmer of hope. He spent over 2 hours with me going over every detail of my test results, every symptom, and every potential method that will help me get well.
The problem? This 6 month treatment plan/pathway to my recovery is not covered by my medical insurance, and it will cost $5400. After exhausting every other avenue and finally coming to this, which I believe is the one that will help me recover, I'd hate to see money be the only reason that holds me back.
So, I'm stepping out on a limb and asking for your help. Would you be willing to donate any amount to help me cover the cost of this treatment plan? Any amount will help. Some of you might only be able to give $10. Some of you might be able to give much more. Some of you might not be able to give any amount at all, but you know someone who can. Would you share my gofundme campaign with your family and friends? Again, every little bit helps, and every gift gives me more hope of getting well.
