Weeks after Kyle and I closed on our new home, we found out the seller had withheld critical information. There is no City certificate of occupancy on our home. We spent hundreds of dollars to the City of Warren for inspections. We failed every one. They've taken us to court, threatened us with jail, and have said they can condemn our home. The list of items they want brought to code is close to $50K. We're trying to hire an attorney to take the seller to court. It will cost a lot to pay the attorney. I am embarrassed to ask for help, but we have no other choice. We don't want to lose our home.
