I have set up this fundraiser to help a good friend of mine, Rob Blassberg and his lovely wife, Kristi. For the better part of 2021, Rob & Kristi were looking for a new place to live as the home they had rented for 23 years was condemned and they could no longer stay there. Being a horseman, Rob was looking for work at a farm in exchange for living quarters. This was not an easy thing to find. At the end of the year, what he thought was the perfect opportunity finally appeared and he and Kristi began the arduous task of moving. Kristi has diabetes, COPD, stage 4 kidney disease and a partially disabled right arm due to a previous surgery gone wrong. This couple just can’t catch a break and they thought they finally got that break when they moved into their new apartment over the barn where Rob was going to work.

Rob has been a horseman for his entire life. He and Kristi ran an animal rescue for many years and their 3 dogs and 2 cats were products of that organization. I’ve known Rob and worked with him over the past 12 years and I can honestly say that he is one of the most hard-working, reliable, honest, trustworthy and loyal people I know. He’s the kind of guy who will do anything for you, even when he’s going through a tough time of his own.

Unfortunately, in early February 2022, only a couple of weeks after moving in, Rob and Kristi found themselves in an unthinkable emergency situation. Through no fault of his own, the job has not worked out for Rob and he needs to find a new place to live. He had spent all the money he had moving into the new apartment and has nothing left for another move, let alone rent.
