Help Rob and Chris with medical costs

Final Dad (up)Date: I like to imagine Dad spent his night and morning, pain free, breathing in fresh air without issue, and rubbing the bellies of Vincent and Wilbur. I know that Dad was greeted by Jesus, my grandparents, and his father in law. I imagine he has already been cat fishing with my Uncle Huck, had breakfast with my Uncle Joe, and had a much needed and therapeutic conversation with my Aunt Sherry. Because I know my Dad, I know he’s already demanded to speak to someone about how he can best watch us and protect us from up there because anyone who knows him knows he was happiest with his family. While I wish he was still here, I know he’ll be watching in real time, chuckling at my road rage, watching these kids grow, and holding my hand when I need it. Please pray for my family over the next couple of days, scratch that for forever, because I’m not sure how we put one foot in front of the other at this point.
Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts, text messages, countless prayers, and donations. We will continue to keep the account open for the next week as there are still many costs coming in. The outpouring of love and support has been so helpful you will never understand.
Love the Paboucek family
UPDATE #5: We are on day 1718282 of this nightmare. The old phrase, one step forward, two steps back comes to mind. Last night Dad was taken into emergency surgery for a bowel issue. He did well, because he’s a badass, but will have to have another procedure this coming week. Mom had planned to come home today so she could go back to work this week, that’s off the table for now.
Please help reduce their burden.
Please pray for my Dad.
Please add him to your prayer list at church.
Update #4 from Cayla: Dad’s covid false positive was lifted today which means Mom is now able to visit! We may actually be able to have two a day but we are waiting on the hospital to clear that. Dad is “critical but stable.” They have started to reduce his sedation. The steroids are messing with his blood sugars so they’ve started to give insulin.
To send dad a card:
Pray:
Complete Earthly Healing
He does not fight the vent as they reduce sedation
Blood work to stabilize
Update #3 from Cayla: Eyes are open and he’s moving his head and hands! Pray he doesn’t fight the vent as he becomes more aware
Update #2: First, we want to thank everyone who has prayed, donated, sent cards, and supported our family.
We are on day 7 of this nightmare. Last Wednesday, Mom took Dad to the ER at Barnesville hospital where he was told by Dr. Sullivan he should stay, he was discharged in the middle of the night by another doctor but immediately returned to Barnesville by Esquad within the hour where he was eventually admitted. At Barnesville he was put on oxygen, CPap, And BiPap. He was on lists for beds at numerous hospitals and eventually found placement for him at WVU Ruby Memorial three days later where he was transported via emergency squad.
Within hours at Ruby, he was intubated and has been intubated since Saturday afternoon. While at Ruby he has had echocardiograms, CT Scans, blood work, breathing treatments; etc all while remaining intubated.
Mom has been by his side throughout. She has been spending her days at the hospital and her nights at hotels local to the hospital. They obviously have the burden of medical bills, lost wages, and food, lodging, etc. Please help reduce their burden.

Hi my name is Ashley Doren and I’m a friend of the Paboucek family for the past 12 years. Rob and Chris would always welcome anyone with open arms and give the shirts off their backs without asking anything in return. Last month Rob was diagnosed with Covid which complicated some pre-existing medical conditions for him. He has now spent countless nights in the hospital fighting for his life while Chris is trying to get back and forth to him at WVU. Any help you would give would be amazing and I know this family would appreciate your love and support at this time. It’s uncertain to know how much the medical bills will be but there are also weeks of lost wages, hotel costs, transportation and food costs lingering over their heads as well. Rob would love nothing more than to be home with his family and loving on his many grandchildren, two children, wife, and his pets. Any help would be appreciated!
