My name is Mary Grace, and I’m organizing this campaign for my friend Roaa Omar Al-Khalidi and her family (nine people total) in Gaza!

Roaa’s family is trying to raise $80,000 to pay for survival needs like food, water, shelter, and eventually travel fees so the family can escape the genocide. $45,000 of the total will go towards travel expenses, the rest will be used for the family's necessities.

Roaa and her family were displaced after their home was destroyed (shown in the video). They are currently living in a tent on top of the rubble in a Northern Gaza refugee camp.

Roaa's family of nine includes:

Roaa, her mother, father, older sister, older brother, his wife, their newborn child, and her two younger brothers.

Here are a few words from Roaa herself:

“Life had a different taste before the war. I used to go to university and study hard and diligently, graduating with honors and getting the job of my dreams. I became independent and self-reliant. Life has changed not only for me but for all my family members. My father lost his job because of the war, and my brothers who graduated also lost their jobs, as did my younger brother. He also lost all educational opportunities.

Everyone here has had their lives destroyed and has lost everything.

I am striving to start this campaign and collect donations to improve my family's standard of living a little, to buy flour, which has become exorbitantly expensive, to restore the tent before the summer, to pay my university fees, to fulfill my dream that was cut short, and to travel with my family abroad to establish a new life for us, free of wars.”

How They Receive Funds:

Due to GoFundMe's restrictions, the fundraiser needs to be hosted by someone outside of Palestine, so I'm organizing this campaign on their behalf and sending the money to the family. All funds will be sent to Mohammed, Roaa's older brother. I will provide updates whenever the family receives your donations!
