RMC Studios has been bringing music students, musicians, and the community together for almost 20 years! We cannot believe we have reached such an achievement. During our years in business, we've worked with thousands of music students and hundreds of staff members, expanding our community and doing what we love most: making music.

As a company, we would like to celebrate this milestone by taking our staff and their families to Disney World, January 6th-10th, 2025. We are asking for help and support from our community to help our small business reach this goal and extend the invitation to even more of our music community.

The Origin of RMC Studios

RMC Studios was officially formed in 2005 by our founder, EJ Gaub, who has always had a passion for music, even though it wasn't something supported or explored in his home growing up. EJ mainly taught himself after finding a drum set on the side of the road during high school, where despite a sports injury ending his college sports prospects, he turned to music and sought opportunities to play and collaborate with others.

While working in the corporate world, EJ discovered his love for teaching music at a local school. Although his ideas for creating student bands and large-scale concert performances were encouraged, they were not supported at the school he was working with. This led him to start RMC in his basement, where he and a small team of teachers taught private lessons and organized student bands.

The school quickly grew, prompting a move to Garwood, where we initially occupied a few rooms in a building that felt more like a house than a music school. We soon expanded to occupy all ten rooms, including building out the attic and basement spaces, to accommodate the influx of students and teachers.

We conducted outreach classes with local community centers, forming strong ties within the community. We helped establish numerous student bands, providing them with local performance opportunities and support their musical interests and career goals. RMC acquired a large amount of recording studio equipment to run our Songwriting & Recording programs and summer camps, open to all students, not just those in bands, interested in creating and sharing their own music.

At one point, we also operated a second location in Portland, Oregon. Today, we are excited to announce the opening of another location in Rahway, NJ.

It seems surreal that we are celebrating 20 years in business, yet here we are! We are continuously thankful for all who have stepped through our doors, including teachers, staff, students, and their families. We cannot wait to see what the future holds and are more than grateful to continue making music with those around us.
