Help RJ's Family Through This Tough Time
Donation protected
My name is Angie, and I’m hoping we can help this wonderful family. Little Ms RJ is a very special young lady born at 29 weeks. She has had a up hill battle since day one. However, over the last couple years she is getting worse and the hospital trips are increasing.
This family struggles to keep things as normal as RJ has an older brother a two young siblings. Dad is 100% disability due to military service an mom works hard outside the home!
Taking off from work to be by her daughter’s side is loosing a paycheck and with the holidays it’s even worse! So if you find it in your heart to spare anything I’m sure it will help. They live a hour from the Cincinnati children’s hospital and only one parent can stay there a the other at home. This will help for food and gas while going to a from the house to the hospital and give them money for food an gifts for the kids.
From mom:
RJ was just diagnosed with Himan Parainfluenza virus 4 (HPIV-4)
RJ is on oxygen. She had a very rough day yesterday and kept having events with her oxygen. Every time she was on room air for longer than an hour, she would drop. We tried waiting it out a few times to give her a chance to go back on her own and 9 times out of 10, she would need help from the oxygen mask.
In the middle of the night, she became unresponsive to basically everything. The nurse had to give her a new IV and she didn’t even wake up (something very unusual for her). So back to IV fluids she went. Another chest X-ray she got. There is still nothing there that is explaining why she’s still secreting thick, chunky mucus.
RJ is now what they call a “watcher”. She has a list outside her door with things like: “does not reasons to painful stimuli” and if anything happens on her list, then a whole team will come to assess her, including respiratory and the PICU. If at any point they feel she’s taken a turn for the worse; she will be brought to the PICU.
I’m at a loss as to what to do for her besides hold her hand, make sure she gets to FaceTime everyone as much as possible, and pray.
Thank you all for continuing to follow us and continuing to pray for us.
Thank you for reading! God Bless
